Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has requested access to all inverted EM data acquired by EMGS
EMGS has informed all license holders of EMGS data from the Norwegian territorial waters that the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has requested access to (i) all CSEM inversion data owned by EMGS acquired in the Norwegian territory from 2008 through 2014 and (ii) the CSEM data to be acquired in the Tiddly and Nordkapp basins in 2015, with reference to the petroleum regulation of 18 June 2001.

EMGS research aims for up to 80% reduction in computation time
EMGS and the University of Oslo have developed a fast and efficient way of performing multi-model 3D electromagnetic simulations. The scheme led to a significant reduction time in inversion. Specifically, for a focused inversion of the Troll oil field in the North Sea, as much as 80% of the total modeling time was reduced using the new approach.

CSEM and MT getting noticed at this year’s IPTC
The 8th International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) is being held 10 - 12 December in KL at KLCC. CSEM and MT receive significant attention during the technical sessions with papers from Shell Brunei on how they integrated broadband seismic and CSEM to de-risk exploration targets along with three ePoster presentations from EMGS.
