Shallow gas accumulations are seen as a hazard when drilling and high resolution seismic surveys are carried out to avoid such pockets. Given the uncertainty of estimating saturation from seismic data, a high resolution CSEM surveys can be carried out in order to de-risk the shallow hazard and estimate the saturation prior to drilling.
