Joint CSEM & MT inversion
Both the measured MT signal and the CSEM signal are dependent on the resistivity distribution in the subsurface. However, the sensitivity pattern and depth penetration of the two methods are very different.
By combining the information from both data sets through a joint inversion, it is possible to image the subsurface resistivity in complicated geologic scenarios such as sub-salt and sub-basalt, which will aid the interpretation of other geophysical methods
Key features
- Utilizing and combining the different sensitivity patterns from both CSEM and MT data
- Improved deep imaging due better constraint of the shallow subsurface by CSEM data
